After multiple childbirth and being away from the tropical island that I was born and raised I was naturally depleted of the nutrients used to grow a baby in the womb such as folate, zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin B9, iron, iodine, selenium.

This is what I had to do...

After giving birth to four beautiful children. I felt beautiful no more.   

In 2008, when my eldest daughter was only nine years old I moved to Ireland.

Her father and my first husband had died just 2 years ago. 

Few years later, my diet and lifestyle had changed drastically and obviously my health was worse.

I was now married again and had 3 more babies. I was depressed and suicidal. My skin had turned into a blueish colour. I was over 20 kgs overweight. 

I didn’t feel joy in life even when I had so much to be grateful and happy for.

I had many dreams and intuitively drawn to change my health but I never seemed to have the energy to make any consistent changes. Eventually my migraine attacks became more frequent and intense. 

 I kept feeling it in my gut to go back to eating the traditional food that I grew up eating. The food my mother and grandmother cooked. 

I finally made some changes, I started seeing improvements. The sluggish, lethargic feeling I had was WAY less.

My skin, my sleep and my energy level was getting better. I felt happier waking up because I was sleeping better. 

Curiosity led me to studying nutritional science and connecting the dots between food, lifestyle and health. 

Now I want to scream from the top of the mountain, to tell women about how our mood, energy and constant aches and pain may be related to nutrient demands on our body while growing a baby inside us. 

These nutrient deficiencies need to be addressed with nourishing food, supplements where needed and healing habits such as daily sun exposure and being in nature. All habits that take a few minutes of your day but nourishes us inside out. 

The key is to create nourishing way of living as a lifestyle and not a fad diet or program you do for only a few weeks.
